Accommodation

PHIL CARRADICE AT NEATH LIBRARY

A small but intrepid group of BWC members climbed into “Big Dave’s” maxi taxi on Sept 29th to head for the wilds of Neath for a “Meet the Author” evening. Click H E R E to see the full Report by Dominique Spearey.


Dylan Thomas Centre

Public spending cuts mean that the Dylan Thomas Centre is under threat of closure. Click H E R E to sign the petition against closure.


June Meeting

In a change to the programme for 10 June, 2011, Dominique Spearey lead the poetry night. This was the first meeting held in new accommodation. Dominique says, 'Following the runaway success of last year's talk; "Prose - the naked truth", the June talk was "Poetry - the naked truth."' The subject of the evening was actually the interesting analyses of several poems.
Dominique also set the Keith Coles competition.
Jean Castle announced that the winner of the 2011 George Perry Trophy was Kay Boswell.


July Meeting

On 8 July, 2011, there will be a Drama Evening.
The first-, second- and third-placed entries in the George Perry Trophy competition are to read by chosen members of the circle.
Entries for the Keith Coles Competition set in June by Dominique Spearey are to be handed in.

August Meeting

On 12 August, 2011, BWC will have its annual Results Evening.Bring along any winning entries (1st & 2nd) in the Mini-Competitions or any external successes for reading to the Group.
Readings will be followed by an End of Year Celebration.


Picture Galleries

Picture Gallery Number 2 and Picture Gallery Number 3 now complement Picture Gallery Number 1 on the website. The latest addition to Picture Gallery Number 3 shows members at the 50th anniversary dinner of Academi.

* The AWARDS Evening for the TERRY HETHERINGTON YOUNG WRITERS' BURSARY will be held at 7:30pm on Friday 1 July, 2011 at the Dylan Thomas Centre, Swansea.
